What a clever move
How can we promote the political involvement of young people with a history of immigration and strengthen their role in our democracy and social cohesion in Germany? The Federal Government Commissioner for Anti-Racism, in cooperation with VAGEDES & SCHMID, wanted to promote this topic under the #MischDichein concept.
#MischDichein” is an already established platform on which young people actively campaign for political change. Tenor: integrate instead of exclude, include instead of cut off and invite instead of ignore. The latter was our briefing keyword: coming together instead of just talking.
We therefore planned various workshops in advance in which participants could develop their own positions on topics such as education, the labor market, social justice and political participation. We chose the World Chess Club as the venue for the discussion and a subsequent panel discussion with members of the German Bundestag and the Federal Government Commissioner in the Federal Chancellery. A location with spirit and enough space for the technical realization of an event with a large number of participants - and enough space to address clever ideas to clever minds.
